July 3, 2009
The Jr. Timbermen will hold 'Fan Appreciation Day' on Sunday July 5th at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Paying respect to the great fans of Nanaimo is the purpose of the last home game of the regular season. Tickets go on sale in the arena lobby 30 minutes before the start of the game. Game time is at 5:00pm.

There will be a limited number of team photos available on a 'first come, first served' basis. Before the game, purchase your lucky program as there will be a lots of prizes to be won; including a number of NLL keepsakes. After the game, bring your family to the floor and get all of your Junior Timbermen autographs.

Playoffs to be Determined this Weekend

July 2, 2009
The Timbermen will face the New Westminster Salmonbellies in the first round if one of two things occur this weekend. If Delta defeats PoCo on Friday night, the Timbermen are in. If PoCo wins, then the Timbermen will have to defeat the PoCo Saints on Saturday in PoCo to get the final playoff spot. If not, the Timbermen will have to win against the Burnaby Lakers on Sunday to secure their spot in the post season dance.

An outside chance at 5th place can be had if the Delta Islanders lose both of their games this weekend and the Timbermen win both of theirs.

Lacrosse Loses Another Builder

June 20, 2009
Many of the Nanaimo Jr. A Timbermen have known Brian Mayzes over a number of years. He has been with the Jr. Shamrocks for the past 3 seasons as the Head Scout; as well as a builder within the Saanich Minor Lacrosse Association for a great many years.

Brian leaves behind his wife Dianne and sons Scott and Cory. You will be missed Brian.

BCJLL Player of the Week

June 8, 2009
The BCJLL have announced that Nanaimo's Colton Clark is Player of the Week for week #6.

Colton had 3 goals, 6 assists for 9 points in 2 games played, with 0 penalty minutes.

Clark is enjoying the move to transitional play and is getting a few more opportunities to use his size and speed over the full floor and is producing quite nicely for the Timbermen. Colton currently sits in 7th place in BCJLL scoring. Congratulations Colton!

In addition, Scott Bannister has a 9.21 GAA and a 81.21 save percentage; moving him up the goaltending ranks; and now sits 4th amoungst active goaltenders.

Looking to the Skies

June 5, 2009
The Jr. A Timbermen host the Langley Thunder tonight at the NIC; game time is 8:00pm.

Nanaimo has faced a few hardships over the past 2 weeks and are looking to rebound with shortened roster. Injuries and player commitments have put the Jr. Timbermen behind the 8 ball but a win tonight over the Thunder will catapult the axe swingers into a tie for 4th spot.

The Jr. Timbermen will then travel to Port Coquitlam on Sunday to face the Saints, a game that could give them sole possession of 4th place and would show a tremendous turnaround to the season.

The summer weather has come and not many wish to be indoors with this weather but an 8:00pm game time tonight should give everyone an opportunity to enjoy the sun, have dinner and catch the Jr. Timbermen at the NIC.

Sunday, the undefeated Coquitlam Adanacs come to Beban Park to face the Timbermen.
